Tanzlabor_21 regularly invites artists to Frankfurt to work on projects of their own, develop new pieces and present them at Mousonturm when possible. To foster exchange with local dance professionals, artists-in-residence are involved in other Tanzlabor_21 projects such as master classes and professional training. We are also currently planning a Meet-the-Artist format that will offer members of the local dance community an opportunity to engage in discussions with the visiting artists.
To promote a healthy artistic climate in the region and foster exchange on current developments in dance, it is vital to give choreographers and performance artists from other cities and countries the chance to reside in Frankfurt and provide them with the freedom to experiment and pursue movement research - if possible, in collaboration with local artists. In some cases, inviting them to present already existing projects provides additional interesting insights into their creative process. Ideally, artists-in-residence also hold workshops during their stay in Frankfurt.

There are two application deadlines per year (April 15 and October 15) for all residencies from 2013 onwards.
