Project Ensemble PET

PET_10 & PET_11

Call for Proposals PET_10 and _11 - Apply Now!

The Tanzlabor_21 project ensemble PET enters into the next round!
Since 2007, there have been nine project ensembles composed of students and graduates of the study programs ZuKT, MAztp and Applied Theater Studies / Choreography and Performance, as well as professionals. Mentors accompanied the working processes of every ensemble. The project ensembles offer the participants the chance to develop a piece in professional surroundings and so gather experience in process-oriented theater work.

The goal of the project ensemble is to encourage newcomers in the region. The call for proposals is therefore explicitly directed at students and artists from the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main region. External applications will only be taken into consideration if students/artists from the region are involved in the conceptual development.
We are looking forward to creative applications on inspiring project and production ideas!

Project ensemble PET_10 and _11

The concept behind the project ensembles is re-discussed every year. This year Tanzlabor_21 has decided to support productions without the requirement of asking them to develop full-length pieces. Two teams will work on their ideas during a six-week rehearsal period and then present their results on the studio stage of Mousonturm. If possible, they will be given a chance to continue working on the pieces and show them in spring 2013.

The Production

The project should be made for a stage space, be between 20 to max. 40 minutes long and can include up to seven dancers/performers. The work can be interdisciplinary, but the main focus should lie on dance.

All members of the team will receive payment for the rehearsal period (a lump-sum fee of 1.950,-€). Tanzlabor_21 will also provide a production budget (subject to prior approval), rehearsal space, technical support, etc. as needed.

Timeframe - Decision-Making Process
Application Deadline: March 26th, 2012

The 2012 project ensemble productions will be chosen by Mareike Uhl and Melanie Franzen by May 15th, 2012. The directing team of Tanzlabor_21 (Niels Ewerbeck, Dieter Heitkamp, Gerald Siegmund) will serve as advisors in the selection process. After initial pre-selection, applicants will be invited for interviews around mid-April.

Rehearsal and Performance Schedule
In order not to make any artistic compromises in this respect, the two teams will have different performance dates and will thus also different rehearsal schedules. There is some flexibility possible concerning rehearsal schedules. Performance dates are however fixed.

Team
Building with Help
The entire team does not have to be fixed at the time of application, but the core team, who developed the idea, should be clear. Tanzlabor_21 is happy to give what help they can in teambuilding through workshops or castings, which can be organized after the selection of the production for PET_10/_11.

Mentor

During the work phase, PET_10 and PET_11 will receive a mentoring team which will accompany the production process and provide advice.

We offer the PET_10 and _11 Teams
  • monthly pay for the participants during the rehearsal period and a small production budget
  • rehearsal space with basic technical equipment
