The Idea
We want to get the Rhine-Main region moving with a collective dance day, by making use of, promoting and connecting resources that already exist in select locations and in doing so draw attention to dance in a concentrated campaign. Existing potential will be activated and linked to each other to inspire even more people. This is the starting point of our thoughts, which led us to the idea of trying to reach people in the region - similar to the Tanzfest in Switzerland - with trial classes, dance interventions and a big dance party.

For one whole day, various groups and organizations will present their activities and their enthusiasm for dance and so invite their cities to dance. Young and old will pick up their feet to actively take part, experiment with new styles or simply watch. Be there or be square! The program will be as colorful as the people across the region: classical workshops and trial classes from ballet and belly dance to Lindy Hop and ballroom dancing, salsa, zumba or flash mobs in public squares.
The Tanztag will come to a close with a big dance party in the evening in which a short choreography will be demonstrated by dancers and guests encouraged to join it.
Main aim of the event is to provide as large a range of offers as possible in order to demonstrate how diverse and rich the world of dance is - anyone and everyone can find the right dance for him or her.
